Ryukyu glass has a long history as a traditional Okinawan craft.
Ryukyu glass was created out of a shortage of resources after World War II and was treated as defective at the time.
Yet its unique colors and shapes came to be highly regarded, and it eventually became a representative craft of Okinawa.

Today, Ryukyu glass is loved not only in Okinawa but throughout Japan.

RYUKYU GLASS SALES

We have a large variety of Ryukyu glass from glass studios located throughout Okinawa Prefecture, and we also carry products that are available only at our stores.
Since each piece of Ryukyu glass is handmade, the color and shape of the same glass differs slightly. At our store, you can take your time to choose your favorite glass from our stock.
We also accept bulk orders for gifts at a wedding reception and gifts for events.

RYUKYU GLASS MANUFACTURING

Ryukyu glass made in Ishigaki Island is manufactured at Ishigaki Kizuna Kobo, which is located in the Ishigakijima Glass Museum.
The origin of Ryukyu glass is recycled glass made by crushing and melting waste bottles. The empty Awamori bottles produced on Ishigaki Island are reused as raw materials. The bottles are crushed and melted in a kiln at about 1200℃ to form glass again.
The most popular glass is the Minsa glass, which is engraved with the traditional pattern of Ishigaki Island, Minsa.

SANDBLASTING

We engrave Ryukyu glass, Awamori bottles, and jars one by one by hand using a technique called sandblasting. You can choose from a variety of design templates, or we ask you what you want and create a custom-made design to commemorate your occasion. Please feel free to contact us for a consultation. We accommodate your needs as flexibly as possible, including large orders, the materials that can be engraved, the position, size, and detail of the engraving.

HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE

We offer a variety of craft experiences using Ryukyu glass, including glass-blowing experiences.
We offer a variety of fun activities for all ages, including children, such as lamp making, photo frame making, and shisha making.
We also accept group tours such as school trips and company trips.
